Joe Manning will present a lecture WEDNESDAY October 6 4:30 PM/ 1:30 PM GMT in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia (Via ZOOM) giving an overview and some preliminary results of the Yale Nile Initiative project to an audience of MS and PhD students in the Earth Science and Engineering program at KAUST, as well as students in Energy Geosystems and Petroleum Engineering.

Joe Manning will present a paper in Cairo (Via ZOOM) on the value of Greek and Egyptian language papyri for the reconstruction of the environmental history of pre-modern Egypt for the conference Social Life and Economic Systems in Ptolemaic Egypt that celebrates the New Start of the College of Archaeology, and 40 years of the Center of Papyrological Studies and Inscriptions at Ain Shams University
